5.5.2(2/3) does not allow a subtype_indication (even optional) in the first form
of iterator_specification. This makes it the only case where it is not possible
to specify explicitely the type of an object at the place where it is declared.

Any reason for that? Can't we allow an optional subtype_indication?
Unless there are good reasons that I miss, I am willing to write the AI.
